Halfway through the week

Bex you picked a classis show there.  Especially loved Polymorph.

So still sleeping in the spare room.  Rex is still little poorly.  Hopefully tonight should be the last night.

Not much to report as usual.  Work is still work.  Been a little less hectic this week thankfully, noy many breakdowns.

What else I have I been up to, not a lot really.  Watched Man U beat Wolves last night.  Hernadez scored the winner again.  That boy is fast turned himself into a legend.

So that is about it.  Got hockey training tonight.  Hopefully one day I might be able to tell you of something really exciting that has happened to me.  But for now I am going to have to leave there.

No tv theme to day I am afraid.  But will think of a good one for my next post.

Monday 25 October 2010

Monday in as a few a words as possible (also Saturday & Sunday)

Saturday - Hockey, lost 4-3.  We should have won, but threw it away.  Most annoying.  Out for beers, with the hockey lads in the evening.  A good night was had by all.  And was staying at the old house.

Sunday - Get up reasonably late, feeling lovely and fresh.  I had forgotten how cold my old place was.  So spent the rest of my day sat in the armchair watching football.  It was just like old times.  And thankfully United managed to win.  Wayne who?  He needs to start watching Hernandez.

Monday - Sames old, same old.  Joys of work.  Thankfully had a good feed at home and now just chilling out in front of the TV.

Will be sleeping in the spare room again tonight as Kelly is ill.  Well at the least the Xbox is in their.

Starting run out of inspirational TV theme lyrics, so might have to start rationing them.  But here goes one more:

Tomorrow,
why wait till tomorrow,
Tomorrow sometimes never comes.
Love, me,
there's a song to be sung
And the best time is to sing while we're young.

Big sis, we need to skype again soon.  Will try to give you a call later in the week.

Friday 22 October 2010

The answer my dear sister to your tv theme from Tuesday is Bread.

Apologies for the lack of appearances over the last couple of days.  It has partly been laziness and partly because when nothing really happens it is quite hard to find things to write about.  So in the hope was that by leaving it a couple of days I might have more to write about.  That plan kind of backfired.

Work has been hectic sorting out problems for much of the last .  And dealing with engineers at time is like dealing with children.  I think I need a naughty step.

Nothing else really tell you, hockey training on Wednesday night was good.
Went out for the dinner with the missus last night
Tonight promises to be a quiet evening, I might go and visit my Xbox in the spare room but that will be as far as I am going.

Well think I might wind it up.

I will finish with my usual tv theme quote of the day.

Our whole universe was in a hot dense state,
Then nearly fourteen billion years ago expansion started. Wait...
The Earth began to cool,
The autotrophs began to drool,
Neanderthals developed tools,
We built a wall (we built the pyramids),
Math, science, history, unraveling the mysteries,
That all started with the big bang!

(Bex - Don't know if you will know the programme, but the song is sung by one your favourite bands)

Hockey tomorrow, fingers crossed for a win.

Dan

Oh, and nearly forgot, Wayne Rooney has signed a new contract at Man U.  Truly a strange week in football.  But at least he is staying (for now).  One bright spot in a relatively grim week.

Tuesday in words (in homage to my big sis)

To easy my darling sister, that would one of my favourite cartoons, the intrepid Dangermouse.

Tuesday in words is quite short. Drove to work, got stuck in traffic, got to work late, did work, left work late to make up time, drove home.

This the now all to familiar story of my very dull life.

So now I am going to talk about other things. Like want away scousers, who do not realise how lucky they are. Starting to understand why the Everton fans hate him so much. Bex you probably won't really get this but it is about football. Getting serious concerns about United right now, if United don't take care we are going to end up like Liverpool only worse.

Music, bought an album by The Qemists, called Spirit in the System. It is great. I hadn't actually heard of them or listened to any of their music. The first song feature and band I really liked so figured it must be good. Turned it was brilliant, and anybody who is a fan of Pendulum should buy it.

Well am going to leave it there for this evening. For one thing I need to go the toilet.

Inspirational tv them quote no. 7:

No one could ever know me
No one could ever see me
Seems you're the only one who knows what it's like to be me
Someone to face the day with
Make it through all the rest with
Someone I'll always laugh with
Even in my worst, I'm best with you

This one should be a little but easier.

Monday round again all to quickly!

So an interesting weekend.  Starting with Friday, I am upstairs playing Tiger Woods on the Xbox when suddenly I here Rex shout Oh no (I may be parapharsing here) fire.  As I am legging it downstairs I see flash of flame and then nothing.  As it happens, Rex had put a pan with oil in it on the hob and then went to look at Facebook.  When she came back the oil was on fire.  Ok, not such a big problem you think, but she paniced and put it under the tap.  Hence the flash of flame, luckily for the Rex and the house the only thing that got damagaed was the blind in the kitchen. Which neither of us like.

Saturday was I bit of a bust, lost at hockey, Man Utd threw away another 2 goal lead.

Anyway not really a lot else to tell you.  The name of my blog it starting to sound all to true.  My life is really not very exciting.  Well accept for the odd fire.

Inspirational tv them quote of the day is:

It's a magic carpet ride
Everydoor will open wide
Happy people like you--
Happy people like
What a beautiful sunny day
Sweepin' the clouds away
On my way to where the air is sweet

And Bex you should Friday's quote, not so sure about Thursday's.

Friday 15 October 2010

Thank Crunchie it's Friday!!!

So, I made to work on time again today.  Woo hoo.  Turned out to be a pretty crappy day though. To try and explain it would take to long.  But needless to say somebody got shafted.  Sometimes I would what companies are thinking when the make their decisions.

Anyway home now.  Already opened a beer, might even open the whisky this evening.  It has just been that kind of a week.

Just sat here watching Masterchef, just seen a chap cook a quail sat a chocolate sponge cake.  Mental.

Anyway, will leave it there for today.  Feel my xbox may be calling out to me again.

So my tv theme tune based thought for the day is:

You know you have to leave here
You wish that you could stay
There's four directions on this map
But you're only going one way

Changes are afoot

Apologies for my 2 avid readers for not adding my blog yesterday.  Unfortunately due to issues arising at work I left an hour late and had to get ready for hockey training as soon as I got home.  And yet again today I had an issue come in late in the day.  Why do they always arrive at 10 to 5.

Anyway yesterday was pretty rubbish.  So not really going to into it.  All I am going to add is that sometimes murder, or at least some kind of physical violence, should be legal.

So to today.  Good news, the traffic was good so I made into work on time for the first day this week.  Thankfully no problems coming in.  The interesting part of the day was our team meeting to discuss the new structure our department would be taking.  Yet more good news for me, the change should make my life easier.  This all has to be taken with a certain amount of caution, as with all thing business related it is one thing saying and one thing doing.

And this evening, I am taking Rex out for dinner.  Been a bit of grumpy boy this week, so am treating her to dinner.

Theme tune quote of the day is:

'Cause I'm always there,
I won't let you out of my sight.
I'll be there--never you fear
I'll be there--forever and always
I'm always here.

Come on England!!!

Boring day, can't really be bothered to go into it.  Late for work again because of traffic.  I am hoping the finish the roadworks on the M40 soon.  But knowing what the UK is like they will still be there this time next year.  Use couple of breakdowns to deal with at work, company update. Then home.

Got really excited when I heard nobody had claimed the £112m Euromillions lottery jackpot as I hadn't checked my ticket.  So raced home, only to find out that I am not filthy stinking rich.  :0(

Well now just sat here watching England play India at the Commonwealth games.  In which England are currently drawing 3-3.  Hopefully they can snatch a win, and the the England football team can follow it up by beating Montenegro.

Bex, it seems you didn't get my tv theme tune reference last night.  Here's tonight's.

It’s not much of a life when you’re just a pretty face. Just to be whoever you are is no disgrace. Don’t be scared if you don’t fit in, look who’s in the reject bin.

With that thought I will be bid you adieu,
Dan

Garfield had it spot with his loathing of Mondays

Well after a couple of days break, which had given me a bit more to write about I am back to tell you all about my weekend.  It started badly when I couldn't find my hockey shirt, so had to borrow one that was already worn.  Even worse I found my shirt after the game in my towel bag (Doh!!).  Anyway back to the hockey.  We won 4-0, which was good.  Not so good was the moron who decided that rather than play hockey he would turn the match into an MMA fight leading to one particlarly rubbish attempt at a tackle that has left me with a painfull hip joint and sprained wrist.  Thankfully he then got nailed by 2 of my teamates a moment later.  Even more annoying was the inexplicably imbecilic decision to award the the free hit to the moron that had fouled me. Grrr.

Sunday, played golf at a very nice course, and didn't even have to pay for it.  Also Martin O'Neill was teeing off before me.  And he was sat in the clubhouse with Dennis Waterman afterwards.  Which was quite cool.  Other than that a fairly quiet Sunday.

So on to Monday, I knew it was not going to be a great day when 5 minutes after leaving home I got stuck behind some tosspot in a tractor and had to follow him all the way to the M40.  Not that it gone any better when I hit the M40.  I stayed on for one junction and the decided to to go the back route.  So ended up being late.  Then spent the first hour on the phone.  Very hectic start to the week.

Now for the more interesting part of my day.  A pigeon flew into hour office window, which was most amusing.  Especially, as it spent the next 10 minutes wondering round the car park looking like it has one too many shandies.

Anyway, think I am going to leave it there for today.  I am struggling to concentrate on what I am typing.

So, dance your cares away, worrys for another day.

Laters,
Dan

Friday 8 October 2010

It just went nuts!!!

So, there is me waking up (which is obviously good news, as it meant it was suffocated by the mountain of cushions). Happy it is Friday.  The roads were empty, the sun was shining.  What could go wrong.  Apparently 4 things at 4 different customers, all within the 1st hour of work.  So spent most of the day trying to sort out said problems, and will still be trying to sort out one of them on Monday.  Needless to say the lunchtime visit to the pub for lunch and a pint was much needed.

So the afternoon passed quite quickly, and went straight to the garage to get my car MOT'd.  Good news my car got a clean bill of health.

So we are waiting for one of Rex's friends to arrive for dinner (and apparently has driven straight past the village).  Which means I shall probably be spending time with Xbox.  Not really sure what will be able to add to coversations about cushions, hairdressing and X Factor, and don't want to be involved in the one about men.

Anyway, going to go and shower.  Hockey tomorrow and sun is going to be out.  So hopefully a win otherwise tomorrow's blog will not be very Jolly.

Until tomorrow, I just keep moving on.

Thursday 7 October 2010

I took the cowards way out!

So, the cushions ended up staying.  Like all men, I am just after a quiet life.  So rather than cause friction, I have grudgingly accepted that the cushions are staying.  Having said that, if you do not hear from me tomorrow please can you call the chaps who are digging out the Chilean minors, as I will have been buried under the mountain of cushions.

So to my day, another standard day at work.  Nothing really to report.  The only thing out of the ordinary was that my got car washed as it is going in for its MOT tomorrow.

So I am just going to leave it there for today.  Plus I can hear the Xbox calling.

Thankfully nearly the weekend.

Wednesday 6 October 2010

Northern people really are easier to deal with.

So slightly more exciting than yesterday. Along with the usual tedium and trivialities of the standard working day, I had breakdown to deal with.  This may one hour my day, if not quite exciting, at least a little more interesting.  Thanks to a vary accommodating Northern engineer agreeing to go down to London from north of Liverpool for 10pm tonight we were make our customer very happy.

So Rex has just got home.  Her opening gambit was I have been a little bit naughty.  Initially this raised my expectations for the evening, only to find out she had bought more cushions for the sofas.  To fill in the gaps, we already have 4 cushions, 2 on each sofa, which as far as I am aware is perfectly reasonable number to have.  But no apparently we needed more.  The other ones are too thin she tells me (she chose them in the first place).  I told her when we first moved, she was only allowed a total of 4 cushions in the lounge, so I put my foot down and told her that she will have remove 2.  Which means she either just ignore me, or I'll be sleeping the spare room tonight.  Well at least the Xbox is in there.

Well got hockey training later, thankfully the sun has come out after very dismal morning.  Will leave it there for this evening.  Need to go and try my new game before training.

Will keep you up informed in the battle of the cushions.

Tuesday 5 October 2010

My life really is very boring

Due to the lack of excitement in my life today this is going to be a short post.  No discontent French people causing a tube strike.  Internet seemingly working fine.  Day at work very dull, although considerably more productive than yesterday.  Not even an obnoxious facial hair to write about.  So I am going to go an shoot some Japanese and German soldiers. Don't worry, I am just going to deposit myself into the world of the Xbox for a few hours.

Dan over and out. (desperately hoping for something interesting to happen tomorrow)

Monday 4 October 2010

The French are secretly invading!

Well the goods new is I didn't burn the house last night, and I don't seem to have food poisoning.  So the roast turned ended up being very successful.

So very much day of downs an ups.

Tube strike in London again, meant chaos on the roads.  Every time I turned of to try an alternative I just hit more traffic. An hour an half to get work.  And here comes the theory on the French invasion.  That is the umpteenth tube strike this year, the only nation who like strike that much (especially at the expense of innocent travellers) is the French.  My theory is that they plan to steadily infiltrate all out transport infrastructure, until there are strikes everywhere and the country will grind to a halt.  Watch this space, it will be the buses next.

Anyway rant over, I had a fairly unproductive day at work due to being enthralled by 24 blokes swings metal sticks at little white balls.  Was a nerve wracking day.  Thankfully Europe managed to edge it by a point, and take the Ryder Cup of those pesky yanks.  Although a jumped up little 21 year old git with a stupid haircut cost me £15 by coming back from 3 holes down with 3 to play to get a half against E Molinari. Oh, and work was fairly dull, if you really care, I didn't.

Well home now, and thought I would write my blog only to have mild panic that our Internet had gone again.  So following the age old advice of any discerning IT specialist 'have you tried turning it off and on again' (I can't believe how much they get paid just to offer that advice) it started working properly.  So, I've probably written a lot more than any normal person could really be bothered to read.

So am off to shower and shave, I have one stray hair just under my lip that has annoyed me all day and needs to be taught a lesson.

Laters,
Dan

Sunday 3 October 2010

Come on Europe

So, woke up with a slightly fuzzy head after my fourth wedding of the year (am hoping nobody gets married next year).  Went shopping with the missus, she need new boots.  Mercifully it only took half an hour and one shop.  Maybe this is proof that god does exist and is still carrying out miracles, more likely I just got lucky.  To reward myself I bought 3 new CDs.  Well I still have 3 more shelves to fill in my CD rack.

Have just spent the rest of the day watching the Ryder Cup with Europe dominating the Yanks.  .  Which I found to be a great use of 5 hours.  Not sure Kelly would a agree.

Now I have to cook my first ever roast.  This could be interesting.  Will let you know how it goes that is assuming I don't burn they house down.

Laters, Dan
